Kagami Biraki 2023
Ken-Zen Institute, the oldest Japanese swordsmanship dojo in NYC, hosted their annual new year’s event, Kagami Biraki. For the first time, naginata was demonstrated here, in honor of the new year and carrying on the traditions of budo.
Japan Day in NYC
GNYNF participated in the inaugural Japan Parade in May 2022, marking the 150th anniversary of the visit of the Japanese mission led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Iwakura Tomomi in 1872 that contributed to further positive US-Japan relations.
